NBC‘s Sunday dramas Suits LA and Grosse Pointe Garden Society didn’t post great initial ratings. A few days of streaming, however, have brightened the picture a good amount.
Coupled with a strong debut for The Americas on Feb. 23, the network enjoyed its most watched Sunday with entertainment series programming — i.e., not Sunday Night Football or a special — since 2019.
Suits LA had 2.61 million same-day viewers for its on-air premiere, according to Nielsen. After three days on Peacock and with other delayed viewing, it’s up to 4.7 million viewers (based on Nielsen and NBC’s internal data). Grosse Pointe Garden Society, meanwhile, jumped from 1.79 million viewers for its first airing to 3.3 million across platforms over three days.
Both shows also more than tripled their ratings among adults 18-49, with Suits LA going from 0.24 to about 0.75 and Grosse Pointe Garden Society from 0.17 to 0.53.
The Americas had a stronger opening on-air, averaging just under 5 million viewers for its first two episodes. Over three days, the premiere of the nature documentary series, narrated by Tom Hanks, grew to 6.7 million viewers, and the second episode climbed to 6.1 million. Those figures are the best performance for a 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday show (again, excluding sports and specials) on NBC in almost seven years.
NBC says some 15 million people watched at least a few minutes of the Feb. 23 Sunday lineup within three days.
